Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Local storage is another way a website can store information on your device. UK rules on storage and access technologies can apply to both, whether or not the information is personal data.

This draft covers technologies verified in the application, rather than assuming every cookie used by the separate Wix website is present here. It follows the distinction in current ICO guidance between uses that need consent and limited uses that qualify for an exception.

Administrator authentication storage

The administrator authentication service uses browser local storage for sign-in session information under a service-generated authentication key. It supports keeping an administrator signed in and refreshing the session. This is not a public visitor analytics identifier.

In the framed Lovable editor preview, a platform session-storage bridge may be used instead of ordinary local storage. This is an editor-preview behaviour, not a claim about the final public website.

Sign-in storage supports the authentication service requested by an administrator. Local storage has no cookie-style expiry of its own; authentication tokens have service-managed validity and refresh behaviour. Sign-out removes the local authentication session, and browser storage can also be cleared. Exact configured session limits and provider-side account retention require owner confirmation.

Your consent choice

The bottom-of-page banner offers equally prominent Accept all and Reject all controls, or you can manage preferences separately. Accept all enables optional preferences; Reject all keeps them off. Necessary storage stays enabled with either choice. Optional preferences is off unless you explicitly enable it. Browsing, scrolling, or closing settings without saving does not give consent.

The necessary local-storage key fase-cookie-consent remembers your choice, the categories, notice version, time saved and expiry. We remember accepted, rejected and customised choices for six calendar months. This duration is a website choice, not a legal requirement. An expired, outdated or invalid choice disables optional storage and prompts you again.

You can reopen the same bottom panel using Cookie settings in the footer or the button below. Changes take effect when you save and are reflected in other open tabs. If the browser blocks consent storage, the choice is kept only in memory for this page session and cannot be remembered after a refresh.

Insights like preferences

Optional preferences controls the key fase-like-token, which holds a randomly generated browser identifier for article likes. The application does not read or create it before permission. After you enable Optional preferences, choosing Like creates an identifier if needed; subsequent article visits can use it to recognise your likes while that permission remains valid.

The identifier enables one like per browser per article and lets you undo a like. It is not used by the application for advertising or cross-site tracking. The server stores a hash of it with the relevant like record; separate hashed network-address records support abuse prevention.

The identifier has no separate expiry timestamp. It is removed when optional permission is rejected, withdrawn or found invalid or expired during a visit. Consent is checked again on visits, when the tab resumes and before optional access; expiry is also checked while the page stays open. Unliking does not itself remove an identifier that may recognise likes on other articles.

Without optional permission, selecting Like offers a link to Cookie settings; it does not grant permission. Withdrawing it stops optional storage use and resets this browser’s recognition of likes. Public counts and existing server records remain; withdrawal is not server erasure. Clearing or replacing the identifier can make the browser appear new. Public reading, comments and administrator sign-in do not depend on optional permission.

External requests and optional tracking

The reviewed application has no active integration for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels or embedded social feeds. The consent panel does not include analytics or marketing categories and none have been added. Share buttons open services only when selected.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and website images and reports are fetched from the services that deliver them. These requests may expose network and request information. An external request is not, by itself, evidence that a tracking cookie has been placed.

The website platform can provide error-reporting hooks receiving error details and a page path. Platform-injected scripts, infrastructure cookies and log handling require a separate final hosting audit. The absence of an application analytics integration is not a guarantee that the hosting platform processes no technical data.

Optional tracking that requires consent must not be enabled before an effective, informed choice. Any future addition needs a reviewed notice and appropriate controls, including an effective refusal and withdrawal route. Browser settings alone are not a replacement for consent where consent is required. New statutory exceptions also have conditions; no audience-measurement or other exception is assumed here.

Managing browser storage

You can use your browser’s site-data or privacy settings to inspect, block or delete cookies and local storage for this website. The names of those settings vary by browser. Clearing website data can sign an administrator out and remove the browser’s recognition of existing likes.

To withdraw optional permission, open Cookie settings, switch Optional preferences off and save. This removes only the optional like identifier, not your administrator authentication session. Blocking storage may stop a persistent like from working. Deleting a browser value is different from requesting erasure of information held by FASE.
