Why do some football clubs build stronger, more sustainable organisations while others continue to face significant challenges?
FASE originated from research undertaken by founder Brandon Duxbury during his postgraduate studies in Football Business.
His research examined organisational sustainability within professional football, exploring why some clubs demonstrate stronger management practices than others and what can be learned from those differences.
The work inspired an ambition to develop a more structured approach to understanding how football clubs operate, identifying areas that require attention and supporting practical improvement.
Recognising the potential to apply these ideas beyond academia, Brandon made the decision to develop the concept into a business.
FASE was established to turn that ambition into a practical organisational management model, supported by a dedicated Framework, specialist expertise and technology.
Today, FASE is focused on professional football, with a longer-term ambition to extend its approach to the wider sports industry.
The decision
Following the completion of his postgraduate research, Brandon received a Research Excellence Award and began considering whether his work could have a practical application beyond academia. At the time, he had already invested significant personal resources in building a business in another industry. Pursuing FASE meant changing direction, accepting financial uncertainty and committing to an idea that would take considerable work to develop.
After discussing the decision with his wife, he chose to pursue the opportunity in professional football. The weeks that followed were spent developing the concept, exploring how the Framework could be applied in practice and recognising the role that dedicated technology could play in making it useful to clubs.
That decision became the foundation of FASE Global.
Our purpose
FASE exists because the long-term strength of a football club is influenced by the decisions, responsibilities and organisational practices behind its sporting activities.
The company's ambition is to bring greater attention to how professional sports organisations are managed and to support stronger organisational decision-making over time.
Our people
FASE brings together individuals with experience across business, academic research, financial governance and legal matters to support the development of its organisational management approach.
